Богиня цветов Флора, раздавая имена разным растениям, обошла вниманием скромный голубой цветок. Уже уходя, она услышала, как этот цветок тихо произнес: «Не забудь обо мне!» Разглядев его, Флора ответила: «Я тебя не забуду, не забудь и ты меня. Отныне твое имя будет незабудка» и нарекла его так, подарив способность навевать людям воспоминания.
